The Libby Drawstring Bag

Hello my wonderful friends, I just wanted to thank all of you who are now following me on this blog and on Face Book. Please spread the word!

I wanted to share with you this next fabulous bag. This is Libby, she is so wonderful. So easy to make, easy to carry. I love her. You can make Libby in a ton of colors, leave them in your closet and switch out to coordinate with all your outfits.

Libby has a double shoulder strap for comfort, pockets on the inside, flat bottom with a gather.

Size 20" across 15" high. Great size.

What I like most about Libby is how simple she is and has such an impact with style. I have a few stores that are using Libby for classes, I have gotten a lot of positive feed back from this pattern, "easy to make, no need for a lot of supplies, easy to carry". Horse Show Weekend

This is a little off topic but I wanted to share a bit of my busy life. My daughter shows horses and this is a picture of her and her first horse Othello. This weekend is a horse show and we are so excited. This is her second show with him. Wish us luck!! Yeah!!

A little info on Interfacing

Interfacing is what gives your bag character. It is what defines the look and feel. Interfacing is the most important part of your bag to give it structure when it is needed most. Interfacing is fused or sewn to the wrong side of your fabric to give it structure. If you are making a casual bag use an interfacing that is light weight and flexible. This will allow your bag to move with out a lot of structure but give it support. Hobo bags, casual totes and small bags are perfect for this interfacing. Light weight fleece interfacing is perfect for hobobags and can also be used. If you want a little more structure, use a medium weight interfacing, this gives a bit more structure, it is still giving you a casual look to the bag but yet a little more structure. Totes with embellishment and appliques, quilted bags, large bags like messenger bags and diaper bags are a perfect example for this interfacing. For a bag that requires a lot of structure like evening bags, clutches etc.., line your bag body and lining. This will allow your bag to stand on it's own. Light weight fusible interfacing is a fabulous product for small projects like coin purses, small bags (wristlets) wallets, and giving those saggy pockets structure. This interfacing comes in a variety of weights and makes a great substitute for sew interfacing. It is all up to you, you know what you are looking for. Do not be afraid to try, touch it at the store to get the feel for every weight, experiment with it. The options are endless. You can find interfacing at most of your fine fabric stores and online. The Brenda Tote Bag

This is probably the best bag out there today. I absolutely love this bag. It is perfect for anyone who loves to be organized. Its perfect size holds file folders, magazines etc... Brenda has many pockets for all your essentials. Pens, cell phone etc...
The sides of the bag tie closed if you choose not to fill her full. To keep her closed is a tab over the front velcro closure. Quick and easy to make and use. The Kenda Backpack simply adorable!

I love to share this backpack with you. It is probably my favorite one. It is best used as a purse then an actual backpack, but for the little ones with the right fabric this would be perfect. My inspiration was my daughter. She loves the quilted look and the smaller backpacks for school so I naturally had to make this style for her. This is the view of the front of the bag. The front has a slip pocket with a tab over the front to keep everything secure.

The inside is completely lined with pockets to help keep you organized. It is very roomy for the size. Remember to use coordinating fabric for the inside. It really completes the bag.

This is a view of the side of the bag to show you how comfortable it sits on your back. The straps are adjustable so you can set it just perfectly for your body structure.

The bag is quilted front and back. I love the top of the bag how it folds so perfectly when you draw the bag closed. The back of the bag has a zipper pocket (Picture not shown) . The zipper pocket is very easy to install.

This is close up view of the detail on the bag, it has coordinating strips of fabric to give it some style and add another element of color, fabric pattern design and dimension. This is a perfect size backpack to carry as your everyday bag. It is comfortable and full of a lot of style. Back Pack Pattern Pamula Jean

I am proud to share with you this wonderful backpack. I was looking for a backpack that was easy to make and fabulous to wear. Pamula Jean offers all of that. You can mix and match all of your fabric fabrics to create your own one of a kind look.

Pamula Jean has a wide should strap for comfort, you can adjust the straps for your desired length. The ends are tapered and tripled stitched for professional clean look. The shoulder straps are not only comfortable but are also the closure for the backpack. Just simply pull them tight. It really gives the top and nice folded gathered look. The only way to access inside this bag as if you take the back pack off and open from the top. This pattern does use grommets, but if you are not comfortable with grommets, button holes will work just fine.

This is a quilt block pattern with an accent strip to give you many options for color and print. You can really have a lot of fun with this pattern. I like the fact that you can mix and match so many colors and prints. There is a lot of simple detail to this pattern that really makes it special and one of a kind.

Inside this backpack has pockets to help keep you organized. Pamula Jean measures at 16" wide x 17" tall. Great size for every day and for school. With school starting soon, now is the time to get started on making several of these, it would be great to have these around in many color tones to coordinate with you wardrobe.

So much going on with me...

First I am proud to show you my poohbear. This is her with her very first horse butter cup. She is gorguse palamino mare.

I am not able to bring her home yet. We are still working on getting the fence up and the barn. I tell ya, if you have never done this before, it is a lot of work. First the permits then the labor. Oh my goodnes... But in all it will be worth it.

Next I just found out yesterday that a very good friend of our family has diabeties. That was huge for us. So I am helping is wife and we are going to work together to conquer this. I have been doing a lot of research for recpies for healthy eating etc... there is a lot of information out there. That is wonderful.

Elise Kitchen Apron Pattern

I wanted to share this with you. It is a new pattern for me. It is a fabulous kitchen apron that is now available. It is a section on my website that I have been slowly trying to get together. I love aprons. I have many people in my family who cook so I was inspired by them and of course "Neena" who is my mother.

The back of the apron has a wonderful tie. I think the bow adds a touch of feminine quality to an apron. I just love the full size bow. The waist band is very slimming.

The dish towel loop is what gives this apron the special feature that a lot of aprons out there do not have. You are always on the hunt for that dish cloth, keep it by your side always. It is perfectly positioned. No need to keep it on the counter or over the cabinet door. It is right there for you.

Easy Peeezzy Pockets for Your HandBag

You will love these pockets for your bag. You can make them with or with out interfacing. The interfacing just gives the pocket support. You will need 1piece of fabric, cotton is best, and 1 piece of light weight fusible interfacing both cut at 8 1/2" wide x 11" tall.

Your panels are going to be long wise.

Fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the panel. Use manufactures instructions.

Fold in half long wise and pin to secure.

Sew using a 3/8" seam allowance. Be sure to back stitch on both ends to be secure.

Easy Peeezzy Pockets for Your Handbags part 2

This is what you should have once sewn.

Trim the access on each corner and discard, you are reducing the bulk.

Turn right side facing you and push your corners crisp, press if needed.

Fold under the raw edges into the cavity of the pocket. Press.

Pin to secure. Pocket made! Now when you place this on your lining panel, be sure the open end is facing the bottom of the lining panel so that when you sew it in place, the open end will sew closed.

Isn't she cute. I have to say that I just love this bag. The fabric is so fabulous. The detail is amazing. The style of bag is perfect for the fabric. Full of life. Libby is just a great all around bag.
She has so much function. Inside is lined with a pocket. It is a draw string so closes tight. Double shoulder straps. Thin so they are not to bulky.

Libby is easy to make. She whips up in one simple afternoon. She has a flat bottom with pleats to give you tons of room with out looking bulky. Her size is 20" wide x 15" tall when fully open.

Busy Busy Busy

I have not been blogging much lately, I got a terrible cold. Still have it. Not as bad as it was but good heavens, it put me out of commission for a week, if not longer. All of my creative juices sorta got put away for a while and now they are pouring out like tomato juice. lol..
I have already made a new bag pattern, oh my goodness it is adorable. I am not able to show you yet because I am still working on photos for the pattern cover and then all of the other stuff that goes along with it. Allie Tote Bag Sew Along

This is my sew along bag I will be sharing for July. It is originally made for Allie, she was my swap partner on my bag group. Sue my moderator organized a very successful summer swap. It was a lot of fun. Thank you Sue.

The bag is a quilt block pattern with lots of pockets, no closure but it is deep enough so there is no worries. The back of the bag is all pockets, great for slip and run out the door.

I just love this bag, it was fun to make and hopefully everyone will have fun making it as well.

My Coconut Bag

This is my coconut bag. I recieved this coconut bag from a friend. She got it from a yard sale. It looks handmade, but I am not sure. Inside has a zipper lining to keep your things inside. It is really neat. My daughter just loves this bag.

My Wedding Gown

This is my beautiful gown. It has been years since I have seen it. It has been at my moms house. She was house cleaning and it was stored there. It was still in the original zip bag you get when you buy it at the store. So I pulled it out last night and decided to look at it. I just love my dress.

It is amazing house skinny I was. A 28" wasit lol.. Not anymore but I am working on it. I have a goal of loosing 55 pounds this summer. It is tuff. I love the beaded work and the way the satin was folded to create the rose buds. You can see a lot of work was done to make this dress.

The back of the dress has this adorable bow with beads on it as well. I did not get any alterations done to this dress, I made my self to fit this dress. I did not want the alterations lady to touch it. I was not sure of her ability and it was perfect the way it was. $728.00 for the gown is a lot of money to put towards it and I did not want anyone to make any mistakes. lol..

The dress is so beautiful, you should have seen my daughters face when I brought it out, she says mom, you fit into that, what happened? lol Oh kids you just got to love them.

The entire bottom of the dress has the rose buds through dress to pull the while thing together. There are rows and rows of tulle to make it flow and beautiful.

For a time I made bridal bags. When I find the pictures I will post them.

I am glad I was able to share this with you.

Fay The All in One Bag

Most of you may or may not know that I live in Florida. In Florida we have many many hurricanes. I have to say, if you have never witnessed one, it is quite the experience. Sometimes you have to evacuate, sometimes you don't. It really depends on the category of the storm.
Well 2 years ago, one decided to come to Florida and never leave. She was not a very high category so most of us were not evacuated. But one thing they do not predict is the amount of rain. Sure they can give you there estimate, but lets face it, lol it is never on target. Hurricane Fay decided to pay us a visit one year and never leave. The rain she placed in Florida was unbelievable and left me and my family flooded in. Sooo as I sit there starring at my sewing machine and computer my husband says hey Jack, why don't you put a bag together that is named after the hurricane. I thought that was a great idea! So here she is "Fay" hurricane inspired bag. lol..

Fay was designed with you in mind who loves to have everything right there by your side with quick easy access, no fuss, no muss. No wallet needed because everything is right there. There is a zipper pocket for your small items, tons of slip pockets to organize all your favorite things. Now that is just handy. There are two flaps, one on the inside. You can barely see it because I used the same fabric as the bag body it is has a Velcro closure and one on the front to close every thing in, this has a magnetic snap closure. If I was going to rate this pattern for my self to make with 10 being the hardest and 1 simple, I would give it a 5. It is more time consuming then anything due to all the pockets. But I feel as tho this bag is worth the time, everything is right there for you and you look oh so faaaaaaabulous!!

Sewing Tip for June, Your Machine Needles

Sewing machine needles. They are our everyday tool to make those amazing handbags, quilts and so much more. We rely on them and expect them to function properly.
Often tho, they do not and we do not realize it. It is the little things that make the difference in your art.
What happens, the tip of the needle become blunt, if you look at it and touch the needle point it may seem normal to you, even feel sharp. But in reality, it is not as sharp as it was when you first began.
Running a dull needle will do many things, first it puts a lot of wear and tear on your sewing machine. It allows the motor in the machine to work harder then what it should, which in turn will put a lot of stress of the motor and cause you to send it to the shop more often then needed.
Next it will cause damage to your fabric, those fine fabrics will have little runs in them and if the needle is dull enough it will cause the same in those beautiful cottons we love so much.
If you listen to a new needle sewing in the machine, it pierces the fabric with out any friction, if you listen to a needle that has been used more then what it should, you will hear the needle pierce the fabric and sound as if it is going through paper and even struggle at times.
For every 5 small projects to 1 or 2 large projects, depending how much machine stitching you use. Change out your needle to a new one and throw the old away.
I know needles are expensive, but in the long run it will save you money at the machine shop.

Melyenda Wristlet Tutorial

Isn't she cute. I love this bag. I use one and I have to say it is perfect for going out to dinner. I hate caring my big bag so this is perfect. I place my cell, I carry a LG Incite, my credit cards, drivers licence a little cash, lip stick. My hubby carries the car keys. Get your machine ready you are going to want to make bunches of these.

Melyenda is a draw string wristlet with a round flat bottom. She measure approximately 3" across and about 11" high.

Here is a view of the inside.

CUT AND SUPPLY LIST FOR MELYNDA:
1. You will need 2 panels 1 of fabric body cut 12 1/4" x 9" and 1 for the lining 12 1/4" x 9"

2. Cut 2 of light weight fusible interfacing 12 1/4" x 9"

3. 2 strips of double fold bias tape store purchase, each cut at 25" long (If you do not want to use bias, you can use cording or ribbon.)

4. Plastic insert for bottom of bag for support, cut 1/2" smaller then the pattern supplied.

5. For draw string casing cut 2 strips of fabric,1 1/2" x 6"

6. 2 circles cut one for bag body and one for lining 4" in diamater, or 2" radius

CONSTRUCTION:
1. You will need the cut 1 circle for the bag body 4" in diamater or 2" radius.
2. Using your cut panels, please fuse the interfacing to the wrong side of the bag body and the lining panels.
3. Using the bag body panel fold in half long wise right sides facing each other and sew the short side using a 3/8" seam allowance.

4. With the panel remaining wrong side facing you, evenly distribute the bottom edge of the panel lining up the raw edges of the circle and bottom edge, pin to secure. Be sure the right sides are facing each other, bag body panel and bag bottom. See image below.
Sew in place using a 3/8" seam allowance. Turn right side facing you, press your bottom flat and seams.

LINING CONSTRUCTION:
1. Use the same instructions for the bag body to make the lining, excluding turning right side facing you.

HANDLE CONSTRUCTION:
1. Using the cut Bias tape, sew them closed by using a single machine stitch up the center of the Bias tape.

2. Tie your ends. Set aside for later.

COMPLETION OF WRISTLET:

CASING CONSTRUCTION:
1. Using your cut panels for the draw string casing. With wrong side facing you, press each long raw edge in towards the center of the casing.

2. Next fold each press each short end of the casing 1/2" towards the center.

3. Using the bag body, center the casing on one side of the bag 2" from the top. Pin in place.

4. Once complete press the top edge of the lining and bag body top edge 1/2", press facing wrong side of the fabric.

5. Slip lining inside the bag, line your pressed edge and the side sewn seam. Pin to secure.

6. Sew in place using a 3/8" seam allowance.

7. Using a safety pin attach to end of your binding slip into the right cavity casing and come out of the other casing right side, till ends meet each other. Slip knot those ends together. Using the other Bias tape attach safety pin and insert on the left side of the first casing you went through, then come out through the other left side casing meeting the ends. Slip knot those together. You now have handles on each side, right and left. Pull tie to close bag.

Bag Complete.

Chloe Wristlet

This is Chloe, it is an adorable wristlet. She is so easy to make with a lot of options for you.
She has a hand strap with a magnetic snap closure. The flap is unique and secures every thing you can place inside. This bag is great for your cell, keys, a little cash etc..

Here you can see under the flap, nice space to slip your items you need in a hurry. She really is great to keep your grab and go stuff inside and place in your bag.

The back has another slip pocket that I divided so you can keep slender items inside. You do not have to divide the slip pocket. Keep it a full size to add larger items. She really is adorable, quick to make and looks great with all kinds of fabrics. She has an easy pallet to be creative.

This is my friend Rosemarie. I am blogging about my wonderful friend because she is caring 2 fabulous handbags. The top one is the Josephine shoulder bag, it is her favorite and she received this bag from a very dear friend of hers for her birthday. That is so wonderful. The picture just above is the Rosemarie bag. I did make this pattern inspired by her. She came to me with an idea. After that wala, a Rosemarie bag. This is an adorable pattern to carry. Rosemarie has all the options to keep you organized and look absolutely fabulous. She has a large pocket on the front of the bag with adorable pleats on the top and bottom. This is a full size pocket, great for grab and go. Alexis Shoulder Bag, New Pattern

This is a new pattern for me Alexis. The fabric is Timeless Treasures. It is just beautiful. The flowers just jump out at you. The detail is amazing. This is a wonderful bag to carry and easy pattern to make.

The bag has a double shoulder strap with two slip pockets on the outside. Each has a closure.

The front has a large flap that closes the bag and the front slip pocket as well. The back of the bag has a button closure with a tab. Very cute.

The inside of the bag is fully lined with pockets. The large flap on the front of the bag has a magnetic closure.

This bag is so nice, great for the spring, easy to make. The bag is available for purchase.

Sew Along for January 2009

I am having my very first Sew Along in January. The sew along is an on line class that I am having for free. It is being held on my handbag yahoo group "Bags to Brag". I am very excited to do this.

The image above is the bag we are going to be making. I have so far 172 people signed up for it.

The bag is adorable. Zipper pocket on the front and more pockets on the inside. Flap closure with a magnetic snap.

I have noticed a lot of people were commenting on how they have never put in a zipper before. So this is new step for me to teach them how to install a zipper.

I think that the sew along is going to go very well. I have my moderators to help me along plus fabulous experienced members with years of sewing.

I never expected that 172 people would sign up for this.

My first session is going to be on January 3 2009. It is 4 sessions long which will be posted each Saturday of the month. They will have a week to complete each session.

If this works out I plan to have more.

I really enjoy what I do.

I also have some more exciting news, my group now has over 2000 members. That is amazing. What a way to bring in the new year. Yeah!

I will keep everyone posted of my results.

I have a new venue for my business. Neena's Kitchen accessories. It is going to be a full line of accessory's that you will be able to make. I am very excited about this line. It has been brewing for sometime now.

This photo is the first, it is a quilted apron. It will come in a variety of sizes sm, med, lrg, extra lrg.

This apron pattern set will offer a lot of options. I am not finished with it yet. I will post later when it is complete. This apron is quilted with two large pockets on the front with a tab and Velcro closures.

It is gathered around each side and ties in the back. It is just adorable.

I think this will make a fine addition to mothers day gifts.

Bridal Bags and such

I had a phone call the other night. A client requested that if I could make a bridal bib. I was a bit confused and had to ask why.. Normally I do not but considering the request I had to. It was intended to be a gag gift because the bride is a very very messy eater. lol.. :0) Well I just could not make it cheesy so I did what I could.
I actually like it. And so did she. I hand stitch a beautiful applique that I had and a few rose puffs with beaded accessory. The flowers are actually from a bridal gown. So it does has special meaning behind it. The outer trim is a delicate scroll. It ties in the back. The base fabric is a beautiful white brocade.

With the bib I could not just give that only so I made her a simple clutch that had a tie wrap around. It is done in the same brocade with an applique that I hand sewn on with beaded embellishing.

This is a close up of the applique. It is a simple bag to hold her lipstick, a tissue etc.... Just a few girlie things you need when you need to freshen up.

I love making bridal bags and have several to show. I will get to it eventually. The bridal bibs. I think that they could be something fun for babies that are in weddings or attending. I loved making it.

Natalie, a very stylish tote bag

This bag makes me very happy. It has such class. Design by my daughter Natalie. Created out of her brilliant mind. :0) Yes I am a very proud mom. I asked for her thoughts and this is what she came up with.
This pattern is available.
The front of the bag is a beautiful floral print with rich classy colors. The black has a light bit of sheen, very subtle. The bronze buckle a perfect addition.

This is a close up of the buckle and detail of the fabric. It is a three ring bronze colored buckle that has the black fabric weaved through. I love the class of the fabric.

On the back side of this bag is a black band that is all pockets. Each is individual narrow pockets great for sunglasses lip gloss etc.. What a great idea. Inside has pockets as well. Fully lined in black with a double shoulder strap.

Mod Podge Handbag

This is my first pod modge handbag. It is an evening bag. The fabric is black with a bit of sheen. I mounted on the back side a stiff peltex and free motion machine stitch the entire bag.

From there I layered first a decrotive paper in a paisley design. then added silk flowers and beads.

In addition I added on top of the silk flowers 2 beaded clusters. one on the bottom left and one on the top right side. These are not mounted with the mod podge, I used a special adhesive for this.

The mod podge I used was a high gloss. I might try the matte next time.

I am not to thrilled the way the edges came out. I would much rather not have the mod podge on the bag itself in plain site, so I am going to work on it a little bit more.

It came out ok for the first time. I will make another.

Beautiful Crochet Shawl Just for Me.

This is my new shawl. It is absolutely gorguse. It is my first shawl. I have always wanted one but could never find the right one. Until a good friend of mine posted one on her photo blog. I fell in love. It was the one for me. I quickly emailed her and asked if she could make me one in a natural shade. Anything would do, brown, black, cream. What ever inspired her. This is what she made for me. It is exquisite,
This is the full view of the shawl. Look at all the detail. The color is rich with a bit of sheen. It is light weight, perfect for Florida. I wanted a light weight shawl so when I am at my craft shows or sitting outside I have some thing to cover. Or when I am out just wearing it because it is absolutely fabulous.
This is as close as I could get with my camera to show you all of the detailed work. I wish I could have gotten closer. But let me tell you, it is perfect.

New Pattern "Mira"

Here is my latest bag. I am so very proud of this one. I absolutley love the style and fabric. It is a great bag for all summer long. Heck even for the fall if you like the colors.
The bag is a double shoulder strap with a magnetic snap on the inside. Two pockets on the inside that are divided.

The liner could have not been a more perfect match. I also used it for the gusset as well. The bag has a flat bottom on it. I added a plastic support in it so it will not sag when you put your things inside.

This is my own pattern and will be available. Great bag!!!

Lorete shoulder bag in bright fun colors

This is my latest pattern. The name is Lorete. This is a great style shoulder bag. It is a style that works with just about any fabric you throw on it.
This particular fabric is full of color, bright red, blue, green and touches of gold. If you look close you can see butterflies.
The flap closure is a magnetic snap. The flap itself is a circle. Very cute.
The printed bag is free motion machine stitching. It has a double shoulder strap.
The red bag is just your basic bag with no quilting.
It has two pockets on the inside, flat bottom.

This is a close up of the flap and fabric with free motion machine stitching. I used the red dot fabric to keep the color flow moving to the inside of the bag.
This pattern was very easy to make, it just took a afternoon to put it together. I like that.

Black and white reversable tote bag

This bag is just fabulous. I love the style and fabric. First I have to tell you all about it and how it came to be. First I own a yahoo group " Bags to Brag About" I have over 1000 members who absolutely love making handbags. Well, periodically we have swaps. Where we make each other handbags and give them to each other. For this bag you are looking at is a part of a swap. In the beginning of the swap we exchange a list of questions that tell us just a little about our selves, nothing to personal. Then we send each other fabric, just enough to make the bag. In this case we are all using the same pattern. Well my partner sent me the black with white dots and the white with black dots. When I got the fabric I had no idea what I was going to do with it. So I brewed for a few days and I come up with the quilted strips. It came out wonderful but I wanted to go a step farther.

With that in mind the bag became revers able. LOVE IT!!! The black fabric I purchased. This is the front of the bag when it is turned. The bag has a button closure. The button is big and fun for the front of the first photo, the second is a little smaller, just a little more casual. The entire bag is free motion machine stitching, front and back.

So, the bag has to have a pocket. I made a large pocket that is divided in the center, so really you are getting two. Then I added a Velcro closure. :0)

Well I had extra material left over, I decided to make a purse organizer to go with it. This as well has a loop over a button closure. I think it makes the perfect accessorise to the bag.

On the top of the bag near the handle placement is pleated. This follows through on all sides of the bag, including the revers able side.

My favorite side, I have to say is the stripe quilted side. Top photo. I love it, it has class. It is funny with polka dots, you really can not add a lot to them, they speak for themselves. If you add to much to it, it tends to get a to busy. I think the perfect bag pattern suits the dots well. I am very excited and can not wait to send it on it's way. :0) I hope she likes it.

Blue Rose Quilted bag and such...

This is my latest bag. It is my "Stephanie" pattern. The old one is going to be not available as soon as I get the write up done on this one. It is a larger bag and I wanted the directions to be a little more user friendly. So I will hopefully have it completed soon.

The bag is quilted front and back. The only thing changed was the size.

My attempt at fiber art has slowed down for a moment. I have prior obligations that I have to finish first. Such as this pattern and I am also is a swap on my group. Lots of fun. We are all using the same pattern. We send each other fabric that we want the bag to be made of, then from there we do what ever we want. Very fun. I will post the bag when it is finished.

I am currently working with a few quilt stores to carry my patterns. That is another obligation very important to me that has to be finalized. It is very nerve racking, you just never know what the out come will be.

I am always looking for ideas and comments to better my patterns. Looking into better solutions. Al tho lately it has been very very busy, with bags and patterns. I have sold so many in this past 3 weeks. It is getting hard to keep up. Very exciting.

I have nothing really new coming up currently. I just need to finish all the loose ends. Plus summer is here, school is out in a few days. I think I just maybe able to find a little more time in my day! Yeah!

Quilted Tote Bag Timeless Treasures

This is my own pattern "Stephanie" #009. It is a braid quilted pattern.

I just love the fabric. It is by Timeless Treasures, the rose pattern. I quilted the bag and gave it some machine decorative stitch on the top and bottom.

The bag is for a friend. I am very excited to send this one out.

Purse Contest

There is a lot going on in my group of faaaaabulous handbag artists. I am very excited to announce that we are having our very first contest.
Members apply to my moderator and I, then they have a certain time frame to complete a bag. Then 4 pictures that best suites the bag they have made will be placed in a folder, members of the group will then choose and place 3 winners, top honors, 1st and second.
I am very excited. I think this is a great way for them to participate in the group activities.
The exciting part for me is looking at their amazing talents, getting them to push their box a little bit farther then their norm.

Lavender Rose quilted Bag

I absolutely love this bag. The fabric is just so beautiful. I could not see it done any other way. It reminds me of a basket of flowers. I made each individual fabric flower. They are across the entire front of the bag.

On the back side of the bag is a single pocket with an additional rose added as an embellishment.

The top of the bag is quilted along with the inside. Inside also has additional pockets as well.

Orchid summer tote

This is a new design for me. It is a zipper tote bag with a single shoulder strap. I free motion
machine stitch the entire bag. I used a sun yellow for an accent on the top and the same color for the liner.
I then added a machine decorative stitch on the top band, handle and accessorie case for the side. This my own pattern and is available.

This is the side view of the accessorie case that comes with it. It is the perfect size for your cell or keys. What ever you have that is small and easy to slide in. It has a velcro closure. The handle ties to the shoulder strap to the bag. The straps are long enofe to tie around your belt loop for another accent or just leave it on the bag. Which ever works best for you. The pattern icludes instructions for this as well. It is a perfect bag for the summer. Make on for yourself or for a friend. The pattern is available and the bag is available for a limited time.

This bag pattern is absolutely wonderful. The unique thing about this bag is the handles. They wrap just slightly around the front and back sides of the bag.

It is a snap closure and also available is a loop over a button closure.

The applique that I put on the bag is just beautiful. It has so much detail. The colors are a perfect match.

This bag is full of color and beautiful poppy florals. Amazing pattern that just jumps right out at you. The bag is a double shoulder strap with a flap over the top snap closure. The body of the bag is free motion machine stitching. The bottom of the bag is hard for stability. The inside is lined with the same small accent print you see at the top of the bag. It has 2 sections of pockets that are divided to hold all your important things. This bag is available and is also available in pattern form.

Butterfly Garden Tote Bag

This is a new style for me. My own pattern. I will be selling my own handbag patterns shortly. This will be one of them. This bag has pockets surrounding the entire body front and back. It has double shoulder strap with a loop over a button closure. There are two buttons on the front and one on the back. I like to keep the same look for both sides. The inside is fully lined with additional pockets as well. Those are divided to hold are your personal needs. The bottom of the bag is firm so it will not sag when you put your items inside. The pattern is just full of color, with beautiful butterfly's and flowers for them to sit on. I added the sun yellow to accent the bag. The pockets on the inside are a bright blue.

Oriental Koy Fish Hobo Bag

This is a beautiful koy oriental hobo bag. The fabric is just amazing. It has touches of gold threw the entire bag. At the crisp line of the gold swirl I added a machine quilted stitch to give it some detail. The gold accent color is also in each of the fish. The back of the bag is a large double pocket with a velcro closure flap to keep everything secure. This bag is full of rich color, style and comfort. The hobo style bag is really a fabulous look in any fabric.

Inside of the bag has even more pockets to store all your personal things.

Wine Tote Bag

This is a new item for me. I will be making wine tote bags. On the planner will be single and double wine bottle holders.

This specific one is made for a friend. It is a double bottle holder with a double handle strap. The bottom of this bag is hard so the bottles will not sag when you lift it. The fabric is a heavy weight tapestry with a tropical design. The liner is a matching olive green. It has a divider inside that is a plastic base and covered with the liner fabric. This is to protect the bottles from hitting one another.

The closure is three strips of distressed leather. They are fed threw another piece of leather. At the end are wood beads to keep the leather from slipping threw. Perfect accent piece for this fabric.

More styles and colors will be coming.

Quilted A Shaped Tote Bag

Fabulous double shoulder strap with bronze look accent rings. The entire outside body of the bag is quilted with 2 1/2 inch strips. Many beautiful colors and patterns that compliment each other.

The handle is a double shoulder strap with added rings at the top of the straps. It has the appearance of a gathered bag. But the gathers are there to stay. They will not shift around on you. Great for added comfort.

The inside of this bag, picture shown, opens wide. It has a pocket to keep all your important things in place. The fabric for the liner is a beautiful shade of rose pink, with a faded floral design.
This bag is fabulous to throw and go.
Great style and colors for the lazy days of spring and summer.

Quilted Spring Tote Bag

This a wonderful quilted bag I made for a friend. It is a tote style in a block pattern with 2 1/2 strips of compliment fabrics. The handle is a double shoulder strap with a loop over a button closure.

Each side of the bag is tucked up with an added decrotive button. I pulled the same brown accent color to the closure button.

The liner is a beautiful shade of a red rose color with a print of a flower.

The inside has pockets.

This is a view of the back of the bag. I used one of the squares to give a pocket that would stay consistant with the theme of the bag.

I plan to make more of these bags. The quilted style is in right now. I would like to take it one step father then what you see everywhere else. A change.

Mary Z Bright and full of fun!

My mary Z collection is one of my best sellers. This one is just perfect for the summer. A grab and go tote bag. Fun bold colors that scream for attention. The liner is sun yellow, the same color as the fun tie strap hanging on the handle. The handle is a double ring with a red pink shade. Perfect coordinating color. The sides are pulled up in an envelope style with a white button for accent. The fabric on this bag is medium weight, very comfortable fit. It lays flat but when needed it expand to a full size bag to hold all your fabulous things. Throw in go, great for the summer heat. You can throw it over your shoulder or hold it in your hand. Either way you are going to look just fabulous with this all around fantastic bag!

Mary Z tote fun and flirty

This is my Mary Z tote bag. Fabulous style bag for an all year around look. This bag is a heavy weight tapestry floral print in a bouquet of spring and summer flowers. It is a large tote with no closure. It is meant for throw and go. When you are out and about, and you need to put your fun finds in something, this is the best place for them. The handle is a marble burgandy ring. There are two of them. The bag is full, but it does compress down for a more flat appearance. On each side, is pulled up for an envelope look. Very cute with accented pearl shell buttons on each side. The liner on the inside is a beautiful shade of seafoam green. Very nice accent. You can throw it over your arm or hold it in your hands. What ever is most comfortable for you. I have many of these comming up in different colors and patterns. Keep your eyes open.

Pretty pink with blue florals, Oriental

This is such a pretty bag. The flowers are just so delicate in the most beautiful colors with gold detailing threw out the entire fabric. The detail is exquisite. I free form machine quilted the bag in a cobalt blue embroidery thread. The entire bag is done this way. The triangle shape flap is quite unique, it is a coordinating blue with the waves detailed in gold. This is a snap closure. This is a double shoulder strap with a very comfortable length. The inside liner is the same as the flap with pockets that are divided to keep all your important things together. The bottom of the bag is hard for stability. Meaning the bag will not be saggy when you add your things to the bag. The bottom measures in at 12/ 3 1/2, nice size bag.

Great bag for everyday. Perfect for the spring and summer.

This is a beautiful Victorian rose bag. I free form machine quilted the bag entirely. I trimmed the outside of the bag in a coordinating green. Along the top and the double shoulder strap I did a decorative machine stitch. The front has a snap closure with a flap. The inside of the bag is lined in the green fabric and is also free form machine quilting. There are two pockets on the inside that are divided. This bag comes with a coordinating purse organizer. The bottom of the bag is hard so when you put your items inside it will not be saggy.

This is a real nice bag for someone who loves quilted bags.

I like making bags that are different then any other. This one is definitely in that category. It is a weaved straw bag. It has a zipper closure. The handle is strickly for your hand. I attached silk pointsettas to the bag. The flowers have gold glitter to them. It sets the flower with a bit of class.

This is a real fun bag to carry. I have one!

Geisha Girl Tote Bag

This is a beautiful Geisha tote bag. It is quite large, so if you like big bags this is definitely the one for you. The outside of this bag is a beautiful geisha with so many beautiful colors. I enhanced the geisha with free form machine quilting. It is stitched along her entire head and clothing. I added to her head dress a beaded applique, it become the perfect addition to the entire bag. It gives it so much character and dimension. I chose to use a loop over a button closure. The button is a vintage looking gold swirl. I love the top of the bag the way it dips down in the center of the bag. It adds lot of style. The structure of the bag is medium, which means it is not very floppy. The shoulder strap is a double handle. The back of this bag is black and has free form machine quilting over the entire bag. The inside of the bag is done is a heavy weight gold material with a small black square in a uniform pattern over the entire inside of the is fabulous bag. Inside is pockets to keep toy organized. They are rather close to the top so you do not have to reach to far to retrieve your important things.

This is a fabulous bag for everyday, shopping or an over night somewhere.

Cheetah tote bag, luscious and soft

This is a very beautiful soft and luscious bag. The fabric is soft to the touch. It is tote bag with a cheetah print liner and accents with brown. It has a single pocket the is divided. The bottom is hard to it is not saggy. I made a brown double shoulder strap. The brown is the same as the liner.

I did not add a closure to it. I really did not feel the need. Sometimes you just do not need one. This bag is deep enough if you carry a small enough of items.

I mad this bag for my self. I plan to make more that are similar. For now, this will be my fall bag.

Until I find another fabric I can not live with out. :0)

Peacock Clutch Bag

This bag is just exquisite. Black on gold in a peacock feather print. The fabric is soft and has a slight texture to it.

The large flap is a micro fiber with a snap closure.

The inside liner is a natural tone cheetah print. It has a single pocket that is divided.

This bag is fabulous for all occasions. You can dress

Feathered Frindge Bag

This bag makes me happy. Really anything that has to do with feathers does. I just love them. They have such an elegance about them.

The base of this bag is dark blue denim, The first row of trim is a flapper black trim at the bottom. The next row is the frilly flapper trim then the row of black Emu feathers. Lastly on the front a beaded floral design to give it a touch of class.

The liner in the bag is coordinating wine, gold and green paisley print with two pockets that are divided to hold all the important things.

The bag is a snap closure. The body of the bag is stiff. Meaning it will not collapse, it has structure and it keeps it shape perfectly.

Elegant Swan Handbag

This bag is just so beautiful, I am proud to call this one from me. There is not another like it.
The swan is detailed in machine embroidery in a shiney gold thread. Took me forever! :0) Well worth it's time. The back of the bag is free form machine quilting. It adds so much character to the bag rather then it being flat.
The bag is full of structure. It is a stiff bag and will not collapse. The double handle is a short to hold in your hand. The closure is a flap with a vintage pin. Perfect accessory. Fun and Frilly Shoulder Bag

This bag I have made for myself. I just love the fringe, it is so carefree and fun.
This bag is made from a pair of my old jeans. The entire bag is made with it including the shoulder strap. The bottom of the bag is hard for stability, I do not like a saggy bag. I like structure.
It has a snap closure and pockets on the inside for all of my things. I am going to make this bag again except differently. I never make the same bag twice. That would not be a "One of a Kind" bag. :0)
The fringe itself is so stricking and fun, I have a bunch of this in many different colors and styles.
Can't wait to make the next one! :0)

Denim Pocket Bag

This is a new bag. I have made several of them. They are extremely fun to carry. All it is, a pocket from an old pair of jeans. It has two pockets total. It has a closure of a loop over a vintage style beaded button.
This bag has two rows of flashy frilly fringe. Complete with dangle beads and eye lash trim. Beautiful shades of gold and brown tones.
The handle is beaded and is short to hold.
You can put just about anything in this adorable bag. Cell, keys, lipstick, money, credit cards etc....
Great gift for anyone who like to carry a small bag or a quicky little bag just to go out in.

Black Sparkle Evening Bag

This is my Black Sparkle Evening bag I have made for a friend. The bag it self is full of tiny irridecent sparles that shine in any light. The base fabric is black with a silver swirl design.
The inside of this bag is black with a floral swirl design. The liner has a pocket.
The closure is a loop over a vintage crystal type button.
The bag structure is stiff, meaning it holds it's shape very well. No sag in this bag.
The strap is a double shoulder strap which can also be used as a handbag.

Fun Fringe Tote Bag

This bag is so fun with all of it's layers and layers of trim.
The base of this bag is dark brown with frilly fringe that wrap all over the entire bag. It has multiple shades of colors in natural tones. The handles are carved with a old vintage look to them in a light lime green shade.
This is a tote bag so it has no closure on it. I used a natural shaded peacock print liner with two pockets, one is divided. In all you have three.
Finnally I added a beaded flower on the front to give it an extra splash of class.
This bag is fantastic and so fun to carry around.
